Emma Maxwell was voted in at the 2026 ECAHO AGM to take over the Chair of the ECAHO Sports Commission, after so long in the hands of Sissi Chat.

NEW GREEN BOOK

Sissi’s final revision of the Green Book is online and will be the binding rule Book for your 2026 event.

There are many details slightly changed: all in red. Please familiarise yourselves with the new version.

NEW CLASSES

There are additional Western classes you may add to your event;  Ranch Trail and Ranch Rail. Please find them on pages of 88 and 97 of the Green Book 2026. These classes plus Horsemanship will also qualify for EBF money at National Championships.

NEW JUDGES

From Italy, Luca Leonardi, who is also qualified for Ranch Rail, Ranch Trail and Ranch Riding.

From Australia, Graham Smith is also qualified for ECAHO Pleasure classes.

NEW COUNTRY

We welcome Spain for their first ECAHO affiliation - although they have many years of experience riding Arabians. Their National Championships for show horses will include Dressage and Doma Vaquera classes of a high standard.


EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Many thanks are due to all at Stadnina Koni Michalow for hosting last weekend’s European Championships for the first time. President Monika Slowik and show organiser Magdalena Helak, left no stone unturned to make the event an enjoyable one for all participants, despite the very hot weather.

The show was held alongside a successful Polish National Championships featuring over forty Polish horses, who took part in many events, mainly in the Classic riding style, with several achieving medals over the following days at the European Championships.

Six countries took part in the European Championships, with all of them winning at least one Gold Medal. Honourable mention goes to the Österreichischen Pferdesportverband, the national equestrian federation of Austria and to the ECAHO member for Sweden, Svenska Arabhästföreningen, for providing financial support for their entrants to travel to the championships.

25 000 ECAHO EBF money was awarded in total to the top five entrants in each division.
